Message from general secretary

Dear Friends,

As we celebrate our efforts “Creating Peace, Security, and People’s Solidarity” and enter into another year 2016, we are pleased to present the first issue of FACES Pakistan’s newsletter for the year 2016 which presents some of the major highlights. Since its nascent stage, FACES Pakistan has been endeavoring to promote the message of peaceful co-existence and harmony among all the segments of society and we are humbled by sharing with you that over the years, we have successfully achieved a number of significant milestones. FACES Pakistan’s efforts for fostering peace and promoting the rights of marginalized members of the society has undoubtedly resulted in bringing significant change in some of its targeted areas in terms of visible reduction in religious and sectarian conflicts and enhanced livelihood opportunities for the underprivileged members.

While carrying a mandate to promote interfaith harmony, denounce the barriers of ethnicity and condemn every form of violence, the team of FACES Pakistan has continued its journey with the same passion and commitment throughout the years.  The interventions of FACES Pakistan are not only designed according to the needs of targeted communities but they also ensure maximum participation of community thus instilling a sense of ownership and responsibility.

Although we have succeeded in achieving some of our significant goals, yet the vision of laying the foundation of a just and equitable society remains to be translated into reality. We, therefore, hope that this journey of building bridges, poverty reduction and promoting education will continue with this very zeal and enthusiasm.

Appreciation beyond measures goes to the team of FACES Pakistan for their indefatigably, determination and commitment to the cause which keeps them motivated even in the toughest conditions too. We take this opportunity to express our gratitude towards our valued partners and look forward to their continued support and assistance in the years to come.
